This aging Academy Award winning actress not known for being pleasant was shopping for clothes this past weekend and told the sales person she had forgotten her glasses and was going to need some help with the price tags. For the next 45 minutes, our actress asked for one price after another almost non-stop. Our actress didn't buy anything, but what made this bad experience worse was our actress' cell phone rang and before answering, dug out her glasses from her purse so she could see who was calling and then walked out while talking away.

Meh, kinda annoying but that IS their job to assist customers-whether they choose to buy the overpriced clothing or not.
Maybe Faye is getting forgetful in her advanced years.
So funny that she thinks she's entitled to personal/free retail service people to be at her beck and call.
Cheap ass bitch was just fishing for a freebie or deep discount from the sales person.
OT - I wish we could go back on these older blinds and see what the guesses were.

This isn't surprising at all to me--I told my encounter in one of these old Blinds of what a bitchy Diva she was at a play wherein "Her BEST BEST Friend In The World" (he evidently wasn't aware of that fact though,lol)was starring in years ago-A VERY RUDE side to her & she was vocally pissed that she had to sit next to Adam Durwitz-it was baaaad. Hey,i'm sorry if she's sick now & hopefully this wasn't her normal behaviour & I've heard stories(& mb comments too) where she's been lovely but she was NOT that day,before,during or after the play-And I don't care if the storeclerk is just doing her/his job,she was being lazy not pulling out her own glasses & doing her own price checking & it was obviously just another powertrip for her.....(if this isn't another BS Blind of course).

For those of you who were in their 20's in the 60s, you will remember what a YUGE star she was. She was thought to be the next Bette Davis. What, exactly, happened to her career? All of a sudden, that was it. No Faye. No films. No nuthin', Was it her Diva attitude? Drugs? Alcohol? Wha' happened?
@Anna, all of the above. She had a lot of falling outs with big name directors, embraced the rock&roll lifestyle when she married Peter Wolf, and basically ruined the years that would have been her peak.Having said that , she has an impressive body of work, in spite of this. I always thought she was a huge star, it's more that she wasn't adored by fans or co-workers.

Mucho thanx for the answer. I had forgotten about the band boy she was with. I've seen so many actresses do this over the years. Remember a couple of Al Pacino's live-ins throwing their promising careers away to be with him. Sure they wish they had never met him. Sad. Still love her, though.
I listen to this podcast called You Must Remember This which is about old Hollywood. They just finished up a series on Joan Crawford and of course included an episode about the movie Mommie Dearest. Apparently, Faye is a monster to work with. I recommend this podcast and you will have hours and hours of old Hollywood stories.
She's not doing so great now. Karma's a bitch, even if it takes a while.
I have listened to the podcast and while I do enjoy it and subscribe to it, it kind of irritates me that the narrator tends to be a little subjective about some things, such as being unable to hide her preference for Crawford over Bette Davis, which somewhat colored her commentary about some of the stories involving them both. But the Charlie Manson's Hollywood series was pretty good.
