I won tickets from a radio station one time. I didn't take it too seriously and had a lot of fun.
As a kid I watched it on TV every Saturday. The was long before the WWE and other national groups. Way back in the day it was local and regional entertainment. And as an adult I worked as cameraman to video tape the matches for that same program I watched as a kid.
WWE is holding an event literally right now in Jeddah, SA. Just surreal, and tbh a good sign.
But uh..no...of course I don't ever watch....

But I was working as a bartender for the venue.
Before the venue let the crowd in, I watched two rival wrestlers do a walk through of their routine they were going to do that evening from the stairs near the bar where I was attending that evening.
So, these wrestlers (publicly) hated each other with such passion, they co-operated in planning the scenario they would play out later once the crowd was seated!

I used to watch WWF as a kid, and in the last year I've been to a couple of local wrestling events. They were super fun, and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
I always love the "oh it's fake" argument, yeah so are most professional sports.

Never been to one, but I think pretty much everyone in my generation (X) watched some wrestling. We only had three channels, after all. The divide was between the people who thought it was real and the ones that thought it was fake. My school was split about 50/50.
I loved it as a kid! This was with Hulk Hogan, Jesse The Body, Mad Dog Voshon et al. Never have been to a live match & that’s okay.
Tons when I was a kid in the 80s! I even got pulled out of the audience to say the pledge of allegiance with Sgt. Slaughter on TV once. What a time to be alive...
Yes, and even knew a couple guys including Roddy Piper. What's sad is what they put there bodies through and the fact they're absolute athletes and stuntman. Unfortunate the goofiness of it overshadows their courage, athleticism, sacrifice, and dedication to a worthy performance for the fans.
As a kid in Texas, wasn’t nothin’ better than a little Friday night (or Saturday maybe?) wrestling with the (eventually) tragic heroes the Von Erichs with a side of Junkyard Dog and all them. My grandfather told a hilarious story about sneaking into San Antonio’s Majestic Theater in the 1920’s to watch Mexican wrestling. My husband has, because he’s the World’s Best Dad, taken our youngest kid to Monday Night Raw twice. Said kid is 16 and still a big fan - WWE Network and all the podcasts, please! I know way more about pro wrestling than any 46 year old woman around!
Yes and yes. Funny story. My family was watching the Andre the Giant documentary together one night and one of my kids ask me if I ever saw Andre in person. I said yes and it was a match where Snuka jumped off of Andre's shoulder. Less than a minute after I said that, the documentary showed a clip of Snuka jumping off of Andre's shoulder. Funny timing.
My husband loves it so I watch and attend live events with him. He does the same for me with concerts. <3
When I was little I saw Andre the Fiant and Hulk Hogan amongst others. Was the only girl I knew who thought it was the coolest thing ever. I’ve seen a handful of events as an adult, but nothing ever came close to that event as a kid. I thought Hulk Hogan was THE MAN. How the mighty have fallen..

Yes, when my boys were young, we went to every event that came through Chicago, watched every network event and pay-per-views too. Last year, I took my niece to Wrestlemania. Lotta bad tattoos and only a handful of teeth in the crowd, but they’re the most loyal fan base I’ve ever shared space with. Not gonna lie...it was in Orlando and I was grateful that it was outdoors. Ten hours long!

No, but I had a friend that was an avid fan. She argued that i was real and I provoked her by denying it. I rode a plane with some when I was in my teens. One was Dr Death (?) and another was a short guy who was really whiney. So whiney i was taken aback and I was only 14 of so.
Yep. Watched WWF with my kids. Went to WCW shows here in Saginaw. My kids even bought me a TitanTron for Christmas one year. They also bought me an action figure of my fave, Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Yes and no. It was funny to watch as a kid, regardless of what the arrogant snobs think...Macho Man Randy Savage, The Undertaker, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, they were great.

My younger brother was obsessed with wrestling during the Hulk Hogan/Roddy Piper period in the 80's, and I was drafted by my parents to take him and his friends to a Wrestlemania. It was entertaining, to say the least - the action in the ring looked REALLY fake because you weren't seeing it from carefully planned camera shots. You know, the whole "his feet are 2 feet from his chest, but he goes flying anyway" kind of thing. Kind of ruined it for my brother and his friends, seeing how obviously fake it was, but they had a good time. Never seen a crowd that riled up. It was kind of scary, actually. This was before the whole thing went really mainstream, so it all had kind of a budget-on-a-shoestring feel, there was very little in terms of sets or lights or fireworks. But man, seeing Hogan in his prime, he was a BIG dude.
I was a huge fan as a kid, then off and on until my early 20s. My dad took me to 2 house shows in the early 90s, very bare bones compared to today's spectacles. I don't really watch nowadays, but I love watching shoot interviews.
I don't watch wrestling and never have, but I have a son that loved that shit. For his 10th birthday, I got him front row center rink tickets and it was one of the best days he ever had. We had to drive 3 hours away to podunk Columbus, GA, but totally worth it to see him so happy.
Side note, this was Chris Benoit's last match before he went home to murder/suicide his family.
I was a little obsessed as a (pre-teenage) kid. The Rock was my first love. Matt Hardy didn't look like a washed-up druggie. The wrestlers could still say 'fuck.' DX were telling everyone to 'suck it.'

i hated it as a kid until my dad took me to the matches with some of his co-workers. I ended up having a blast. Afterwards we went to a local dive sports bar and Andre the Giant came in with a friend of his. We ended up sending drinks over to Andre and he came over and sat with us for some pics. I've been a fan ever since
Nope. Not as a kid, not now. I never found the appeal in the whole “rrargh!” Smash thing.
I did learn to appreciate some of what goes into it during the Ru Paul’s Drag Race pro wrestling challenge though.
It's a family thing for me. My Papa loved it and used to take my Mum to matches. Then she took me, and one day I'll take my kid when I have one. I've made loads of friends through it - people from all over the world. Some are wrestlers themselves. We all love the spectacle of it. In fact, this year New Japan Pro are making their UK debut and I'm going down south for the weekend with family to see the show.
It's just something fun, that has been good to me. Some people have golf.Some people have ballet, or opera. I have wrestling, and I love it.
Yes and Yes, though I was at the event via media connection and got in for free. It was one of the Wrestlemania's, and I got up close and it was great fun and entertainment, to be honest. Never Would've imagined.
Yes, many years ago. My friend's boyfriend got us some free tickets. She took her son and I took my stepson. It was at Madison Square Garden and we had a ball.
When I was growing up, my grandpa loved "rasslin'" and my brothers watched (then) WWF Wrestling every Saturday. I watched, but hardly by choice.
My Grandfather watched wrestling, too. I told him it was fake. He didn't believe me, lol.
Boxing Yes..wrestling no. So fake and phony.
The Sport of Kings. Watched for decades, not much of the new stuff (WWE blows). Been to many events, from SummerSlam at MSG to ECW Fanfest at a Babe Ruth Field in Trenton, to Tommy Dreamer's House of Hardcore in Freehold NJ.
I would never attend a WWE event again. $50 for nosebleeds compared to $50 2nd row at an indy event is a no brainer.
