Huh. Maybe Kate Middleton And Prince William Are Getting Married

Over the past few years, all the tabloids in England and in Canada and the US have made a fortune out of Prince William and Kate Middleton getting married covers. Every movement or action was considered a sure sign there was going to be an engagement and a dream wedding and a chance for the tabloids and networks to replay the Diana wedding for weeks and weeks and how this wedding compared to that one and just basically give themselves several months of covers they know will sell.

This time though, I think there might actually be something to a gesture. Kate's parents visited Balmoral and that was a first. Think to yourself that it is one thing to go to the parents of someone you are dating. No big deal really. Sure, it is serious, but it does not mean marriage. But, what if you invited your possible future in-laws to go away for the weekend with you. To me that is a whole different level of seriousness and wasn't it at Balmoral that the world first got wind of the Diana and Charles engagement? Was it announced there? I just remember Charles in a kilt and showing the world he liked to breathe free and easy underneath if you know what I mean.

This woman is riff-raff, and a gold digger. He needs to marry a royal, like his mother was, not some tramp like Fergie.

Oh, I do love British gossip. I wish we got more on here.

What Jamie's Girl said. What about one of those lovely Princesses from Monaco?

His other uncle married a non-royal though and they've been pretty under the radar. Kate doesn't bother me like Chelsy did when she dated Harry.

I think it's probably a good idea to thin out the royal bloodlines. Too much inbreeding can kill the bloodline you (as in vous) are intent on protecting.

They have been together for years (like a decade) so it does not seem strange to me.

Um, as I recall, Diana was also too "common" for the royal family. Kate seems perfectly nice to me and I see no evidence of "gold-digging".

I think Diana and Charles' engagement was announced at Buckingham Palace. Part of their honeymoon was at Balmoral.

I believe Diana had a stronger British lineage than Charles, due to family becoming 1/2 German (his great grandfather) when Victoria married Albert.

Prince William & Kate are BORING and she's so plain jane.

I think he should hook up with Charlotte Casiraghi.

Isn't Kate Middleton from a mega wealthy family..?

Diana wasn't a commoner. Remember, she was Lady Di, i.e., titled. In fact, the Queen Mum and Diana's grandmother more or less arranged the marriage.

@ Jamie's Girl: Diana wasn't royal until marriage. She was titled.

I think it says a lot that Kate and William have been together for years. If there were any skeletons in her closet, they would have been exposed by now.

I think she is deliberately plain jane. That's not to say she really is or that she is with him - she deliberately protrays herself in a manner thta leaves her without any controversy at all.

Remember when they broke up for a little bit? She was a teensy tiny bit more free then and she looked gorgeous!

Jamie's Girl...I think the DOE would disagree there. Lady Di was a commoner only titled through family.
And honestly...when you're a future King- everyone has less money than you, doesn't mean they are golddiggers.

Looking at her very thin legs,my concern is her diet, not her bank account.

@nichole I know! Chelsea was the plague

@HannahPalindrome Is it too much to ask? but I think that Charlotte is too much fun for William, and too nice for Harry.

I don't think Kate is a gold-digger, she's been groomed all of these years to become his wife and if she were a gold digging whore, it would have come out by now.

I must say that sometimes this whole topic seems so stupid and pointless to me; being groomed, marrying someone with a title, it's the freaking 21st century!...and yet I still talk about it! LOL

I don't know if she's a gold digger, but I don't think she's anything special.

What the hell does she do all day?
I think the gold digger label sticks because she has put up with him for so long.

Portraying herself w/out any controversy to be a proper Queen is a bit zzzzzzzzzzz.

Nobody is that perfect and I think that's why she's meh.
8 years of nice Kate would lead one to believe she's desperate to be Queen.

Who cares.
I think Prince Harry is hotter.
I want to know who his real father is...

"What the hell does she do all day?"

Well, she finished her degree from St. Andrews in Art History in 2005 and has been working as a buyer for clothing companies since graduating.

And yes, her parents are the owners of a very successful mail order company.

@hannah~ Harry was toddler when Diana and Hewitt got together. Hewitt is such a dirtbag and has made money off Diana's memory(he told their story in the book "Princess in Love) that he could have made serious money off of the fact that he was Harry's father. From what I have read about him, he is hurting for cash.

I really think Charles is Harry's dad

May she rest in peace, but Diana was not of royal birth. She was a commoner.

And yes, this is the 21st century.

The Royal Family isn't as rich as it once was. Williams looks like he's morphing into Daddy in that picture.

Since she's a commoner, will they have to come up with some sort of insignia like they did for Fergie? What was it - something about a bumble bee? It was portrayed in the train of her gown, I remember that.

If they wait much longer, there may not be any kids.

I think they are the real deal. They have kept skeletons at bay for now, and he surely knows he can trust her by now. They seem to be best friends as well, but they each spend plenty of time apart. And they smile when they're together, which is telling to me.

I am impressed at the discipline William and Kate have employed in NOT getting knocked up. They're probably at the point where they're ready to have children, like a lot of couples who decide to get married after long dating. But royals DO NOT have shotgun weddings.

Kate can only hope that William not only got Albert's hairline, but will be the one royal who got his fidelity as well.

(BTW, Victoria & Albert's children were 3/4 German, as Victoria was half German herself; she and Albert were first cousins. The royal family adopted the family name Windsor when Saxe-Coburg fell way out of fashion in UK.)

What would be her title if they married?

He should marry Madeline of Sweden, the second in line to the Swedish throne and the HOTTEST royal ever.

Man, oh Maneschevitz! (sp? it's an old liquor ad)

Does ANYONE here remember why Charles and Diana's marriage sucked BALLS in the first place?

These two are obviously meant for each other!

And looks to me she will add a LOT to the much-needed health, vitality, durability, depth and breadth to the thin gene pool of European royals. Don't the Scandinavians let their offspring marry outside? And look how healthy they are!

I know good and well the Middletons have met the GD royal family, but just in private. The signal here is they made it known.

And QEII must appreciate Kate's athletic demeanor and outdoorsy-ness. If a bitch can't deal with hanging at Balmoral, they are screwed.

This family is a horny bunch. They say Prince Philip hid all over that boat on his honeymoon, trying to let his dick heal from Bess' constant wantin' it. And they made poor Princess Margaret out to be the slut of them two, but the Queen had no choice but to get it all in by overworking one stud practically to death.

(wow, am I verbose tonight, sorry)

Nightmare child, those lovely princeses from Monaco are Catholic, aren't they? That's still a no no for the British Royal Family.
I sort of like Kate, she always seemed so down to earth, surely they need someone like that to put their feet on the ground?
