The Best DUI Arrest Story Ever
You know I hate people who drink and drive. Take a cab or walk or call a friend. There is no need to do it. This holds true even if your passengers are a zebra and a parrot. Yep. A man from Iowa was arrested as he got into his truck and began to drive away from a bar. When officers looked in the front window they saw a zebra and a parrot. The man said that usually the two animals are allowed in the bar with him but because the bar was serving food the two had to wait in the truck. People noticed this and called police who showed up as the man was pulling away. He blew a .14. Turns out the zebra and the parrot go everywhere with the family. You have to watch this clip. OT: not too far from where I live, this rural town bar has BELT SANDER RACES on Saturday nights. It's a very small town.

Parrots should be in the jungle and Zebras frolicking on the tundra. Not in someone's lame ass kitchen. Or car. People are nuts.
But still, I'm ashamed to say that I find this amusing.
The radio show I listen to every morning spoke with his neighbor on the phone this morning about the incident. He said he is a super nice guy and that he bought the zebra from an auction & that it is the zebra from the movie Racing Stripes. That's my useless info for the day. :)
Saw this on the news this morning. My only surprise was that it was a zebra and a parrot instead of a chicken and horse. I've seen that before.

My brother in law owns a zebra. He used to own 2 but a rattlesnake bit one so now he has just one zebra and a minature donkey. He owns a small ranch with assorted other animals and has all the proper permits. I'm not too crazy about people owning these animals but he does treat the zebra well (as well as the rest of his herd). But yeah, he's a little wacko.

How does a regular house-dwelling person even get a permit to own a zebra?
I'm a firm believer that wild animals belong in the wild, but if this zebra was born and raised in captivity, and they treat him well and have an experienced vet caring for him, I guess I don't really have as big of a problem with it. The people who really piss me off are the ones who buy a tiger cub "because they are so cute," never thinking about how big the cat is going to get and how much meat it'll need as an adult. Idiots.
My great aunt and uncle had a mountain lion when they lived in Prescott, Arizona. My uncle found it one day after it had been hit by a car. They took it to the vet, paid a ton of money to fix him up, and then by the time he was ready to be released back into the wild he wouldn't go. He lived out the remainder of his days (IIRC, about 8 years) in their house and yard, entertaining himself by hiding around corners and jumping out at unsuspecting little nieces. He was spoiled rotten.

Thanks! He was a shit, but so funny you couldn't stay mad at him. He acted like your average entitled but playful house cat, just about 10 times bigger. He got along with their Irish setter, too. They even slept together on their own bed in their own bedroom.
The hiding around corners thing was his favorite game -- you never knew when he was going to jump out at you. He'd hunker down and wiggle his butt in the air, jump out with his front paws up and do a growl-by, taking off before you could recover. He loved doing it to me when I visited, I guess because my aunt and uncle didn't have kids/grandkids/etc. and I was a novelty to him. Spoiled brat. He lived a nice, long life. I think he died of, basically, old age.
I'd do anything to see pictures, that is too cute. Silly kitty.
Keeping wild animals as pets is idiotic.
A zebra is basically a horse/donkey with stripes. Unusual yes, but that's all. I wouldn't equate it with keeping say a lion or chimp.

Lots of people in the south have exotics. Ive scratched cougars, cuddled lemurs, skunks and bears.
This just seems unusual to us city folk with well... standards. Horse poop in the house and all.
Night out with animals is a strange thing especially when you drive drunk. A lot of violations to be considered. Ask help from DUI lawyer to know more about DUI and your rights and help minimize charges filed against you.
