RIP Mr Winters.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the decades of laughter.
Rip, and good journey, my funny friend.
ReplyDeleteBetween this and Count Steubenville, my Friday has been ruined.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad used to LOVE him! So he always reminds me of my late father. RIP.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if Maude Frickert has been notified yet?
ReplyDeleteRIP Funny man. :(
ReplyDeleteRest in peace, Grandma Frickert.
ReplyDeleteOh my..good old Maude Frickert. He was such a funny guy. And I heard he was a lovely and sweet man too. He was very generous to up and coming comedians. Bless his wonderful, giving heart.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me sad. He was, also, one of the first comedians to discuss his mental illness. RIP funny man.
ReplyDeleteVery sad. Rest in peace, Mr. Winters.
ReplyDeleteBut...but...but...he's supposed to be aging backwards. He should only be 24 right now.
ReplyDelete@Gayeld
DeleteNanu nanu. ;)
@Jane. Jonathan Winters and Robin Williams were just golden. They could have pushed Mindy and her Dad right out the door and no one would have noticed.
DeleteHe reminds me of my Dad...same kind of humor. He was part of my childhood. Loved him in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.
ReplyDeleteRIP Mr Winters. TY for the many years of laughter.
ReplyDeleteSorry don't know how to make this clicky but here is Jonathan Winters on Jack Parr he was a comedians comedian and I loved him RIP Mr Winters thank you for the lifetime of laughs!

Seahorse, great clip. Thanks. RIP, Mom and I loved you, Mr. Winters.
DeleteMaria Tallchief had died as well.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/13/arts/dance/maria-tallchief-brilliant-ballerina-dies-at-88.html?pagewanted=all&_r=1&
Seems like a lot of old timers in their 80s are cashing in their chips lately.
Oh wow. I guess I didn't realize she was still alive. Truly a stellar ballerina! One of my heroes as a child.
DeleteHe was amazing in my all time favorite movie, The Loved One. RIP Mr. Winters.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who this guy was, but according to the pic and the comments, he seemed a nice guy.
ReplyDeleteThe bad part is that he inspired Robin Williams and, even worse, jim carrey.
RIP. I suppose the good things overcome the bad ones in this guy's life.
My dad was a big fan of his, too.
ReplyDeleteRIP, big guy.
Jerry Lewis is my all time favorite comedian. I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, but has been mine since I was a kid (over 40 yrs...YIKESSSSSS!!!). He just turned 87 on March 16th...PLZ stick around for a bit longer Jerry...seems all the legends are leaving us :(
ReplyDeleteYoMismo Winters was 5 million times more talented than either of those 2 guys.
ReplyDeleteMy grandfather was a doctor and loved to tell the story of his hospital stay 30+ years ago. The nurse had asked for a urine sample. When she left the room, he poured the leftover apple juice served from his meal into the cup. When she came to pick it up he said he wasn't finished with it and drank it in front of her. My grandfather laughed every time he told that story. The hospital staff thought it was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteRest In Peace Mr. Winters, you left the world a happier, funnier place than when you found it.
ReplyDeleteI loved him so much.
ReplyDeleteMe-TV is airing "A Game of Pool," the classic JW/Jack Klugman episode of "The Twilight Zone" tonight. I'll be out, so I'll miss it. Boo.
ReplyDeleteRIP Mearth.
Damn. He was such a talented guy! And you never heard bad words about him from other comedians either (unlike the others mentioned.)
ReplyDeleteHis Nixon was spot on too. RIP.
Sad. My Dad was a huge fan of his also and we used to watch his movies together. My favorite was Viva Max (very rare, not even on DVD).
ReplyDeleteOh I adore Jonathan Winters--I have all my life.
ReplyDeleteGodspeed.
Very sad... Loved the Scooby shows he was on as a kid. Xo
ReplyDeleteRIP Mr Winters.
