ablake said...: I don't get the Nickleback/Avril hate. Both Chad and Avril are great singers and since I'm never going to meet them, I could care less that they are jerks. Don't get me wrong, I know they are (from firsthand accounts) but it doesn't make them less talented. Plus I like Chad's caveman voice.
It just seems 'cool' to despise them.

I can't believe Dons new squeeze is Lindsay from Freaks and Geeks! Glad she's getting work but they made her look so old she was unrecognizable! Roger's story line was good, john Slattery is such a good actor he's one of my favourite characters on the show.; 12:46 PM

There was a really dark vibe to the whole epi, going from sunny to cold & snowy, life-saving to morbidity and death, marriage to adultery, youth to fading star, Peggy succeeding while Don fails, the usually confident Roger losing it. Very introspective and interesting episode. I will defn be tuning into the rest of this season!!; 12:53 PM

The character he's playing is based on Camden mayor/NJ state legislator Angelo Errichetti, and if the photos I've seen of the latter are any indication, he's doing a pretty bang-up job in terms of looking like him. He's not the only one to whom the late 1970s are not being kind; Bradley Cooper (the out-of-control FBI agent running the scam) has a beard and a ridiculously tight curly 'do; Christian Bale (the con man the FBI armtwists into helping w/the sting) has a pot belly, a mustache, and a really bad combover; even Jennifer Lawrence (Bale's wife; Amy Adams is his mistress) has this not-entirely-appealing updo while playing a NJ housewife. Amy looks pretty good so far, but yeah...the late '70s in NYC/NJ wasn't exactly a fashion highpoint, and how they're dressed and made up reflects this. (No, I've not seen them in person, but there are photos all over the net if you're curious.) The movie is set to open Christmas Day (after a limited release to qualify for awards season earlier in the month), so mark your calendars now, because I'm thinking this one's going to really, really good.; 3:40 PM

I don't like Don like this, he almost seemed lost and depressed. Betty is so ridiculous! Her character is so boring and one note. I think Madonna is a bit of a tool now, but my God I thought she was the coolest when I was in grade school. We looked like a bunch of idiots trying to pinch her style with the fingerless lace gloves, lace bows etc. (I may or may not have faked a beauty mark above my lip) Seeing these pics brought back some great memories.; 4:53 PM

I know the parents are parading them around, but a simple blur effect would be great.
