For the first time in a long time, there was a tie for the top spot. Ben Vereen is a legend and one of the greatest entertainers ever. Oh, and for those of you too young to remember or know about it, go look up 13 episodes of greatness of a show called Tenspeed and Brown Shoe starring Ben and a guy named Jeff Goldblum.
The other top spot goes to Stephen Hawking and John Lithgow. Both are amazing and this is one random photo.
Amy Winehouse got hammered last night and then kissed anyone and
everyone as she was leaving.

I've never noticed but you're right Ben and Usher do favor one another but Ben is is a much more classier dancer.

I've kind of loathed Cosby ever since he started doing those STUPID dances in his show's intro. Sooo self-indulgent (and NO I don't think he's DUE it). Also, he should have embraced his race and hired all-Black actors for family members instead of actors who are VERY light-skinned, and who, like Halle Berry, are half black. (Yeah, flame me if you want, but I'm paternally half Sicilian and maternally Black and Spanish and my mother's side is pretty much the only I'm not ashamed of. My Black grandfather was a hero in his time...and I have the news clippings to prove it.) I'm not talking about Black Powah, but Bill should have not gravitated towards very Cafe au Lait actors and gone with actors who were Black or looked Black. ex: That actress he dragged in to portray his (suddenly invented) oldest daughter: She was hardly worth the effort, her performances were tepid. Where is she now?

I've always felt that the Huxtables were the whitest black family on television, ever. Cosby promoted Lisa Bonet pretty shamelessly, and look how that ended up (Angel Heart, anyone?) He even held her picture up during the intro after she left the show! Hmmmm....And Saundra and Eldon? He was a whipped eunuch continually deferring to the political correctness of his strong black wife. And the grandparents always gave me the impression they were thinking how much like Ozzie and Harriet they were. Then again, the show might not have had the enormous success it did if the actors weren't as appealing to mainstream white audiences, so maybe the producers took that into consideration when casting the show. Demographics, people!

You do realize that African Americans come in DIFFERENT SHADES. And FYI Theo (Malcolm Jamal Warner), Rudy ((Keisha Knight Pulliam), and Vanessa (Tempestt Bledsoe) were/are not light skin. All of the kids are different shades.
Also from what I understand none of the Cosby kids have to work for the rest of their lives, they were all set up pretty well financially from the show.

I loved the Cosby Show, could definitely relate to it and truly admired Bill Cosby at that time. I stopped admiring him after the scandal with the woman who tried to sue him which he actually admitted to having an affair with. Since then there have been many others. And last but not least, I saw him live recently and he just wasn't funny.

For the record, Bill has fair-skinned kids of his own as his wife is of a lighter hue. Does it even matter? I don't agree that it was the "whitest" black show ever. All blacks do not live like Good Times. He just showed another aspect of black life. Why do we knock the positive? With that said, Bill promoted Lisa thinking he was going to get some ass. When she told his ass off, he had her blackballed in Hollywood. I see it still works today as you blame Angel Heart for her downfall. This is Bill Cosby's M.O. Robin Givens took him up on his offer and the rest is history. Funny comedian, slimeball human being.

@J - that is fascinating! I had no idea. That isn't right! He played her dad. It's sad, but some of the actors who come across as really nice and down to earth turn out to be some of the sleaziest douchebags in person. I guess that is why they are actors.

I know there is a big 'light-skinned' vs 'dark-skinned' thing in almost every community. Except it's cooler to be darker skinned if you're caucasion. I don't get it. :( It's just pigment.
@J: Thanks for the info on Lisa Bonet/Bill Cosby. I never heard that but, sadly, it's the secret behind many of the stars whose careers vanish only to have someone ask, "Gee, whatever happened to...?" and never find out. The unusual attachment on his part was pretty obvious, though. You also made me re-think my "whitest black family" comment. Who am I (or anyone) to say what black families are "like?" Good Times doesn't represent all black families any more than Roseanne represents all white families....
@MadLyb: I'm paraphrasing, but I remember Michael Jackson talking about how people were saying he lightened his skin and what controversy it created while white people were going to tanning booths to darken their skin and no one thought twice about it. Weird!
I also didn't know about the Lisa Bonet scandal. I heard that she was fired because she had marital problems and couldn't function at work. I do know that several women have admitted to having affairs with Bill Cosby and some of them said that he drugged them and had sex with them.
He's never denied it so I've always believed the rumors were true.
Hence to say, I no longer respect Bill.

Back in the 80s Ben Vereen was in the same hotel as our sorority dance was held-he heard the party, came and performed for quite awhile. A highlight for everybody. Nice thing to do.

@ Lady J - yes, I do realize that. My own mother was absolutely GORGEOUS. But I think Bill tried to make his show more appealing by hiring half-white actors. Hey, I have nothing against the actors or half-white people, but I think Bill's casting practices are suspect. I think he was pandering to his audience

Yeah, it just goes to show you can't believe in anything anymore. Such a supposedly wholesome, family-oriented, high-minded show, and behind it all...the same Hollywood sleaze. Damn.
I only remember seeing Anastasia (Bridget's sister)once on that show, and that was on her birthday bus trip, certainly not "EVERY WEEK".
