Today's Blind Items - Kindness
A few weeks ago this C list movie and television actress who used to be B and has a very distinctive voice was in the airport when she met a woman and her wheelchair bound daughter. The mom and daughter were going back to their home after being in Los Angeles for what they thought was going to be a Make A Wish type event. NOT Make A Wish but some other organization. Anyway, it turned out that the event the daughter was supposed to go to to meet one of her favorite musicians was canceled. Literally all the daughter got was a t-shirt. No Disneyland, no nothing. Well, our actress called her manager, canceled her own ticket on the flight and took both the mom and the daughter to a hotel, called all of her friends and anyone else she could think of and threw the girl a party at her house with about 20 A and B list actors and also the girl's favorite musician. She then arranged for a limo to take the two to the airport the next day.

This is just a wonderful thing to read. Not only for the actress who arranged it, but the others who joined in on the party. I know how charities like "Make a Wish" are SO important to the kids & families...this whole thing brings happy tears to my eyes.

Fran Drescher is almost exclusively TV, while the blind mentions a "movie and television actress". I'd bet on Jennifer Tilly.

I immediately thought of Fran Drescher as well. But, whoever it is, WOW! Please reveal in July, as this person deserves a pat on the back. It's refreshing to hear about a celebrity who cares about others instead of only for themselves.
Jennifer Tilly was my first thought because she has more than a few credits on tv. Fran Drescher hasn't done a lot of movies. Anyway, reveal! this one was so sweet.

Yeah, I immediately thought of Fran Drescher too -- and I actually always think of that role she had in Saturday NIght Fever pinching John Travolta's butt. I don't know if she has done much else in movies but she definitely has one rather classic moment in film history and I think overall she could be decribed as a former B list actress

I used to know Jennifer Tilly, and although she has some nice qualities, as well as the unique/strange voice, she's pretty shy and I can't see her going out of her way to do all that for this little girl. This sounds infinitely more like a kindness from Fran Drescher to me. Hope this is revealed!

All of these are good guesses, but I thought of Holly Hunter. She was absolutely a B-list bordering on A-list back in the 80s and early 90s. Her show on TNT just ended. I'd say she might be a C now, although to me she's still a B. Her voice is very distinctive.
Rosie Perez was my first thought too. She's done movies and TV, and as a one-time Fly Girl, is probably the type to do this sort of fun thing. Whoever it is, very nice.
Biggirl198 - it could be the event was cancelled and that it was the fault of the organiers and not the musician. Often times, these things are just set up by others and the celebrity is just told where to be by their people and not given a lot of notice in advance. Might not be the musicians fault.
I agree with Cecilia00. May not be the musician's fault. Was the musician at the party the same one that canceled?

The musician didn't cancel it was the organization. The musician showed up at the party thrown by the actress.

You know, it's been so long that I've tried to find the positive side of Hollywood people that I can't even begin. But it makes me remember that probably the majority of people in the business are decent (a little ego-driven, but hey) people who go to work, collect the paycheck, and think good thoughts. I first thought of Kathleen Turner. My hubby (who I am slowly getting hooked on blinds) guessed Holly Hunter but I thought she won an award and Enty would have mentioned that. Fran's a good guess too.
Kathleen Turner is a known bitch and her (now ex) husband was a slum lord while she was living in a gorgeous NYC home and crowing about her hubby's business/real estate acumen. I HIGHLY doubt it's her.
As far as Demi Moore is concerned, I dunno how bitchy she is but I just can't see her doing this.

I like Jennifer or Meg Tilley. Fran would have told her how lucky she was to be with her, and that would be all, maybe take a picture. Tilley probably knows everyone in LA and the musician is probably Tom Petty.
I agree with Fran Drescher guess. She also was the first to come to mind.
If I had to make a second guess however, I would consider Candace Bergen or Cybil Shepherd. Both are very well-known for TV roles and both have had their share of movies as well.

Gabby - I think Fran Drescher hasn't done much in awhile because she has been considering a political career. Plus, she's very active in charities.
I really think it's her because even though she hasn't acted a ton lately, she seems to know EVERYONE in Hollywood. So, it's believable to me that she can get all these big people together on short notice for this little girl.

I was thinking Joey Lauren Adams, because she has such a distinctive voice and has a lot of Hollywood friends, including musicians. But, Fran also fits, because she's just so awesome, everyone loves her and would pony up to help her any day.

Am I the only person that thought of Eliza Dushku (sp?) for this? She did something similar with the girl she found stranded in Sundance a while back and she has a pretty distinctive raspy voice.
