Martin Lawrence Getting Divorced
Martin Lawrence and his wife have announced their divorce. This one is interesting because the couple have been together forever. I think it must be something like 15 years but he always kept his wife in the background and they only got married in 2010 despite being together for so long. I think they got married when Martin was trying to make up for something he had done and to show Shamicka that he could make a commitment. I guess that didn't work out so well for him. They didn't even make it two years. I guess the announcement means that Martin is planning on showing off someone new in public and didn't want tongues wagging, but I don't know if most people even knew Martin Lawrence was married.

Well if they've been together 15 years he had a LOT to make up for. I'm not sure why women always think getting married to the man who did them wrong will magically fix him.

I thought I remembered him dating Lisa Turtle (lark vorhees?) A few years back..guess not? I guess they only thing martin can commit to is making awful sequels.
This makes me believe even more that getting married after being in a long term relationship is the kiss of death.

He sexually harrassed Tisha Campbell when she was on Martin with him years ago, and it got so bad to the point where she threatened to walk off the set, or she did walk off the set, or she quit...I can't remember the exact details.

crila 16 -- he did abuse and harass Campbell; HBO told her she was over-reacting (that's their corporate culture.) Shortly after she got married the producers agreed to shot the Campbell/Lawrence scenes separately so they didn't have to have contact with each other (I'm guessing her husband had an intense discussion with the show runners.)
She is very pretty, and looks smart too, but her name is weird. he is a jerk face anyway.

Lawrence was married to first runner up in 1995 Miss USA pageant in 1994 - 1997, so They couldn't be together for quite 15 years. His ex-wife is married to NFL Hall of Fame RB Emmitt Smith.
Shamicka had their first child in 2000, I believe.
